Curzon Soho, London

Curzon Soho, London

The 700 seat auditorium of this existing 1959 cinema was proving commercially unviable. The interior has been reconfigured to provide three smaller screens which give greater programming flexibility.

The refurbishment extended the foyer area which was being under-exploited. A new bar extends under the pavement of Shaftsbury Avenue and a new cafe at ground floor opened directly onto the street.

Externally the entrance was remodelled, giving the cinema an enhanced presence and providing views to the lower foyer and bar level. A distinctive new Curzon Soho sign and glass readograph have been installed.

Budget: £1.5million
Completion date: 1998
