Ebor Hall, York

Adjacent to the Yorkshire Herald building in the centre of York stands Ebor Hall, a Grade II listed former assembly and banqueting hall on the bank of the River Ouse.

The building has been restored and extended for use as a restaurant and bar. The new contemporary addition reflects the rhythm and proportion of the original hall using contemporary materials and forms.

The riverside walkway extends along the whole frontage of the building linking to the adjacent Arts Cinema.

Ebor Hall, York

The Yorkshire Herald complex adjacent to the Guildhall in the centre of York, includes the free standing Ebor Hall, a listed nineteenth century assembly hall which had been used as the paper's editorial office and had fallen into disrepair. Panter Hudspith introduced Pitcher & Piano to the project. The building was restored and converted for use as a bar/restaurant and doubled in area with a new extension. The riverside walkway extends along the frontage of the building.
