Mulberry Park, London

The alterations and renovation of this six storey grade II listed 1820’s house in Belgravia were required by our client in order to create a modern family home while preserving the character of the existing house. To achieve this it was necessary to remove a number of later additions to the house including the demolition of a projecting first floor extension to bring light to the lower floors.

A swimming pool was inserted in one of the basement bedrooms and light well, with a new, walk-on glass roof at ground floor level accessible from the relocated kitchen space.

The master bathroom was remodelled and individual treatments given to the existing ensuite bathrooms. The original Portland stone staircase was restored and reclaimed timber flooring laid throughout.

A new conservatory at roof terrace level features an opening corner created using timber framed frameless glass doors, and a frameless glass lantern. This compliments the contemporary landscaping treatment to the terrace and lightwell including a vertical garden. The house was also redecorated and refurbished throughout.

Budget: £40m
