Bradwell's Court, Cambridge

Bradwell's Court, Cambridge

iChrist's Lane is a 1950s shopping complex situated in the centre of Cambridge.  Panter Hudspith have gained planning permission to redevelop the site for its owner, Land Securities Developments.  The new scheme envisages the demolition of the existing building and the construction of a two storey development, providing retail use at the lower levels with housing and above.  A key ambition of the scheme is to reinstate the historic pedestrian route, Christ’s Lane, which was blocked off in the 1950s.

The proposal also seeks to respond to the grain of the neighbouring buildings in the historic conservation area, offering carefully scaled elevations and an articulated roofscape.

Budget: £13 million
Due for completion in: 2007
